More than 1,700 AI Films Submitted from 126 Countries and Territories Worldwide
The Organizing Committee of AI FilmFest Serbia 2026 is proud to announce the official results of this year’s international competition after receiving more than 1,700 submissions from 126 countries and territories worldwide.
The extraordinary number of submissions and the remarkable quality of the films made this year’s selection process one of the most challenging in the festival’s history. Over several months, the International Jury carefully evaluated each project based on originality, storytelling, artistic vision, technical excellence, innovation in the use of artificial intelligence, and overall cinematic impact.
The selected films represent the very best of contemporary AI-powered filmmaking and demonstrate how artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for creative expression across the global film industry.
The selected films will be screened during AI FilmFest Serbia 2026, taking place from July 3 to July 8, 2026, at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts (FSU) in Belgrade, Serbia.
Award Winner
1st Place
The First Day
Director: Anton Dubrovin
Country: Russian Federation
The jury recognized The First Day for its outstanding storytelling, emotional depth, cinematic quality, and innovative use of artificial intelligence as a creative filmmaking tool.
2nd Place
AI Control: A Realistic Simulation of Humanity’s Future
Director: César Augusto Cabrera Boggio
Country: Spain
The film was recognized for its thought-provoking exploration of humanity’s relationship with artificial intelligence and its compelling documentary approach to one of today’s most important technological questions.
Official Finalists
Following several rounds of evaluation, seven films were selected as Official Finalists, representing exceptional artistic quality, technical achievement, and creative innovation.
The Official Finalists are:
- Migration — Türkiye
- Copate/Enfocate — Argentina
- Good Days — Hong Kong
- THE FINAL CHAPTER — Italy
- HORIZONTAL – A Tale of the Vertical World — France
- Goodbye — United Kingdom
- Schrödinger’s Umbrella — Türkiye
Together, these films present a diverse range of genres, artistic styles, and cultural perspectives, demonstrating the growing international influence of AI-assisted filmmaking.
Official Semi-Finalists
An additional fifteen outstanding productions earned the distinction of Official Semi-Finalist, reflecting the exceptionally high standard of this year’s competition.
The Semi-Finalists represent filmmakers from Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond, showcasing the remarkable diversity of voices currently shaping the future of AI cinema.

Opening Day Screenings
The festival will officially open on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 5:00 PM CEST (Belgrade, Serbia) at the FSU Multimedia Studio, Faculty of Contemporary Arts.
The Opening Ceremony program includes:
- 5:00 PM – Grand Opening Ceremony
- 5:15 PM – International Panel Discussion: How Artificial Intelligence is Changing the World of Cinema
- 6:00 PM – Award Ceremony
- Screening of the Award Winner
- Screening of the 2nd Place Winner
- 6:15 – 8:15 PM – Official Screenings of all Finalist and Semi-Finalist films
The Opening Ceremony will be held live in Belgrade and simultaneously broadcast worldwide via the official Faculty of Contemporary Arts (FSU) YouTube Channel.
